Flour-fight

2007-07-29

The last night I was at Chateau de Montcru, we had pizza, made by… ourselves!!
Robert and Elisabeth had put everything out; meats, mushrooms, onions, cheeses, dough and… flour. (dundundunnn) This left us able to ‘decorate’ our own pizza’s!! vegetarian version for me of course (A)
Molly made pretty pizza’s with ‘ears’, Elisabeth made yummy pizza’s with cheese and pinaple, and David made mutant pizza’s with anything and everything on the table :P (it was hard for him to get it into the oven because it was the ingredients kept falling of when he’d shove it off the overgrown spatula.
That’s not to say mine weren’t slightly on the larger side though (A) they were delicious. When we had all eaten our share… I kept staring off at the flour, standing there so innocently. Hands kept reaching into it to use for the dough-rolling.
I couldn’t resist…
I took a little hand from the bag and divided it in my hands.
I walked ever so innocently over behind Daisy, and…
well…
her cheecks had never looked so ‘pale’ XD
after this she had to get revenge… of course.
we were soon joined by Molly, and Sam san out of arm reach as soon as he could. After a while, David had just been standing, working on his pizza too peacefully. So Daisy and I decided to help him out by adding some flour… on his head.
!!!!ALL OUT FLOUR FIGHT!!!!!
of course Sam had to be the clever one, he stayed well out of reach, leaving all of us white as ghosts we decided he HAD to be the whitest one out of all of us… so we all banded together and went after him. He gave us the slip though, and we ended up searching for him more than actually chasing him.
Eventually, when it was time for desert, he got a phone call, so we gave him a break and he was standing by the pond. Mercy compelled us to let him eat his ice-cream in peace, but when he got up to get a smoke… our mercy ran out. We got him and we got him good :P
Good last evening.
After we did the dishes we played hearts (cards) and massages eachothers heads. Swimming in the dark was one of the things I won’t forget about that vacation. (So much fun) but this log was about the flour fight ;)

Sam & David

2007-07-26

Daisy’s hilarious cousin and the schotisch wwoofer.
Such an interesting combination, and a very interesting pair ;)
hilarious, and good card-playing partners.
These two are a riot. “Helped them paint a table” when Daisy had to go to a doctor’s appointment. (read as: Molly and I drew on David’s back, after which the paint had seeped through his t-shirt, leaving him at our mercy for the cleanup) (A) hahaha
but seriously. Both of these guys are total sweethearts :)
hung out with them some, especially at Sequoia Vertigo, where they acted like monkeys by swinging the ropes XD
Even though I have never met either one of these weirdos before, I doubt I’ll soon forget them ;)
Especially after the night right before I had to go home :(
We spent the beginning of the night playing cards and massaging eachothers heads (head-massagers are so addictive :P haha) and went swimming in the dark after…
either way, had fun with “Free Love Hippy” (David) and Daisy’s eternal war rival (c’est la guerre!!! … Sam)

the Stoters

2007-07-20

These people have a special place in my heart.
I’ve know the entire family since i was little, they probably know me as well as my own family does.
and even though they live in a different country now, we still keep in touch and I’m always glad to see them.
Very friendly and welcoming :)

Chambre d'hote

2007-07-20

The Stoter family has their own chambre d’hote.
even though i was only there for a week i met some very nice people who were renting a room there.
First up are Nancy and her daughter Molly.
Very nice people. Molly is 10 years old, we went horseback riding with her and showed her the Gallop. (so much more fun then any other speed on horseback)
They gave Daisy and myself little stuffed animals (bungel bungel) as a kind of thank you for hanging out, which of course didn’t need any thank you :P it was lots of fun.
On sunday night plenty of people were passing through. Why? –> because of the pre–tour-de-france. They were cycling in it and needed some place to get a good nights sleep. People from America as well as Australia, and probably more.

Redwoods

2007-07-20

SO COOL!!!
on monday we went tree-climbing. (no not like monkeys)
Daisy, Luc (her bf), Sam, David and I had a blast.
It’s called “sequoia vertigo”
you get a harnass, and aa safety hook to attach to iron cables that go from tree to tree.
The you basically manouver yourself over ropes and bridges and swings.
The platforms on the sequoia’s were like 30 metres up, and then you hoocked yourself to a cable and slid down (diagonally) to the ground. It was so much fun.
defenitely something to do again if i ever get the chance.
Of course in the beginning i was scared out of my pants, but after a while it just rocked. You wouldn’t believe the view we got on one of the sequoia’s.. breathtaking. (of course i didn’t take a camera treecliming, so i can’t show you.) Sam and David were real little monkeys ;) on certain points we couldn’t move quickly enough because of the people in front of us, so they would start having fun of their own, they’d start shaking the ropes at each other and bsically have a blast. hilarious to watch (and sometimes even participate in a little)
Of course we all had to shout SOMEthing on the final slide…
“YEEeeeHAAAwww” (cowboy like)
“WOOoooooooHeeeeeeeeeeee!!!” (wheeeee)
“I love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu” (self-explanitory) ;)
