Hello all,
on the road again, staying with couchsurfers.

OH, my, GOD.
Chocolate heaven has been found!!
Today we met up with two of the girls we were staying with in the WWOOFing place we just left, and basically just hung out.
We woke up after being able to properly sleep in for the first time in ages, went over to the place they were staying and had some grilled cheese sandwiches.
Then we headed out to check out the archeological museum (which was closed for rennovations) and the flea market (which was just not there).
So we finally decided on just sitting down in a cafe.
We got some INCREDIBLE waffles with chocolate and vanilla ice-cream, absolutely covered in chocolate sauce, it was oh so chocolaty/waffley goodness, and we played some cards there.
(which is not that weird here, we’ve seen people just hanging out in bars playing chess and backgammon)

DINNER TIME: the four of us headed out to the port around 5.30 to a cool restaurant Liz and Lucy (the other WWOOFers) had found the day before.
Between us, we ordered seven small plates of foods (all delicious) and two karafs of wine, and it all cost only $32!!! (amazed)
needless to say; we stuffed ourselves and greatly enjoyed ourselves while doing it.

After this we met up with an Aussie named David, who has apparently been traveling for 20 years!!!
He played us some music on his guitar and his friend played on a small three-stringed guitar-like-thing. A good Greek evening, with lots of drinks and snacks.
and then…
CHOCOLATE HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There’s this bar called “Utopia” that our CS hosts took us to, where practically the entire menu is chocolate (thus the nickname “the chocolate bar")
We had chocolate fondue with the complimentary plate of cookies,
it couldn’t have been better… unless the prices had gone down.

Now we are back in our hosts appartment, pregnant with FOODbabies (as Liz would say) and very ready to fall asleep.
so, GOODNIGHT y’all ;)

love,
2Ds

What a mouthwatering story, although I am not a chocolate fan myself (missing a chocolate gene I think). It is good to hear you are enjoying Heraklion and company.

Its me again-forgot another IMPORTANT issue for both D's. Must be getting Alzheimer or so... D and D both have received a voting bill for our annual local elections for the board of the almighty water management authority. They decide on how we are going to keep out heads dry in the face of a rising water level of up to 60 cm coming decades. So our house will be floaded if we do not do something-better order a floating coach or something. So David how you want to vote: green, lefty, middle of nowhere or far right way of keeping our heads dry ? I know Davida is a right winger (or not???) You see democracy in The Netherlands has progressed to the level unheard of in other parts of the world: we can vote on how we want to save our asses (sorry for my bad Scottish influence on choosing words :) )
