Meeting David’s friends was fun.
They all seem really nice. We had fun at the nightclub close by; Cabaret Volitaire. Maybe had a little much to drink seeing as how we didn’t exactly walk home… we staggered.
Dave found a keychain on the sidewalk though; it’s still in my coat pocket :)

East Lothian
2008-01-07
Yesterday Katherine took us to East Lotian, where we saw:
- Gullane
- Northe Berwick
- Tantallon (Castle)
Picked up nice treasures on Gullane beach (a) like pretty shells, a crab body (dead of course) and other things; time to act like a kid i supose (a)
Had some nice ‘chips’ (aka: fries) and onion rings in North Berwick… David’s absolutely smothered in Brown Sauce of course :P
when we were done with that we went to land’s end and enjoyed the nice view of Bass Rock (a huge lump of land in the middle of the sea) etc. Took some really nice pictures and was told all about the cute resident birds: Puffins <3
Last but not least; we went to take a look at Tantallon Castle. I must say it was pretty much in ruins; but still gorgeous to see. :) The courtyard was completely outside; the castle only needed two oter walls (instead of four) because the other side’s were inaccessible due to the steep cliffs into the ocean.
A nice way to spend a beautiful day.
Today it’s snowing; for the second time! But this time not really enough to go out and have snowball fights :P

HOGMANAY
2008-01-01
Happy New-Year everybody!!!
Hogmanay in Edinburgh was absolutely off the charts. The concert in the gardens was
saw:
-Kasabian (with surprise performance from Noel Galanger [Oasis])
- Calvin Harris (I got love fore you, if you were born in the ’80’s)
-Red Hot Chilli Pipers (not Chili Peppers)
and a lot of drunk people :P
also joined in a circle of Scottish dance; which was fun to say the least :)

After that we went to find some of David’s friends, dragged them out of a bad bar (David badly twisting his ankle while doing his ‘dutch-dance’) went to a better bar and danced the night away.
When we were tired of that we went to the triplet’s (more friends of David’s) house and afterpartied past sunrise.

Loon Fung Cantonese restaurant
2007-12-28
I really don’t like chinese food.
Most of you who know me; know this.
Take-out?–> anything but chinese!!
Family dinner? …cool
At a restaurant? …okay
With aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents? … ah
It’s a chinese restaurant? … … … crap
^That was my first reaction.
I’m pleased to say however–> that’s not how I left
the food was great, the family was nice and aside from the fact that the table was a little too small to bend your arms enough to eat properly (fifteen people all struggling with chopsticks) it was basically a good place to sit and have a family gathering.
Afterwards David and I went to a bar and had a couple of drinks. Something i wouldn’t normally do at home; but should consider doing more often… needless to say; i had a good time.

Auld Reekie Ghost Tour
2007-12-28
Want to see the underground?? Looking to catch a fRight??
No better way than hopping on a Ghost tour, especially when it’s dark and cold out, and there aren’t very many other people going on the tour with you.
A tourguide took us on a stroll through the city, showing us the oldest and most historic parts of the city … like the tower where they used to dump their sewage (garde de l’eau in scottish: “gar du lou!!") and bury the people who had died from plague, as well as how they used to go about hunting for whitches… The tourguide was actually quite funny. She told us stories about the past and and joked around with us now and then (never faltering from her character though) she was quite good.
When we had walked in a nice circle around some sights she took us into the Edinburgh underground.
When i first heard this i thought; “oh we’re going to see a tunnel, possibly some old abandoned train tracks” but it was actually a building that was so large that much of it was under the ground.
She took us into haunted chambers and told us ghost stories… basically scared us shitless…
quite a nice night out really :)
Afterwards we went for some drinks, and while walking home we bumped into some of David’s friends… so we went for some more drinks :P
Then when we finally got bored of that we enjoyed a nice long walk home… in the rain… chasing lightbulbs reflected on the pavement… all in good fun really :D
