Comoro Islands is principally a three-island country in southern Africa, situated at the northern end of the Mozambique Channel in the Indian Ocean, between northern Madagascar and northern Mozambique. The country consists of three volcanic islands: Grande Comore, Moheli and Anjouan. Anjouan has been called the "pearl" of the Indian Ocean. The islands' mountainous terrain with forested hillsides and rivers tumbling to the sea, offer a variety of habitats and they are the home to diverse animal and plant species.
