About Ghana
Ghana has a diverse landscape with sandy palm fringed beaches and lagoons, grassy plains and tropical rain forest, low bush and park-like savanna. Ghana's Volta River, with Lake Volta as the world's largest artificial lake, is a prominent destination with Kujani National Park nearby. The main game reserve is Mole National Park with elephants, antelope, baboons, warthogs and crocodiles. It is an inexpensive destination for wildlife enthusiasts with drive or walk through possibilities.
Kumasi is the historic capital of the Ashanti civilisation, where ruins can be admired of the Manhyia Palace. Accra is the capital of Ghana, a vibrant city with good museums and colourful markets. There is an entire string of colonial forts along its coastline that reminds of the gold, ivory, and slave trade.
