About Yamoussoukro
Yamoussoukro is the capital and administrative centre of the Ivory Coast. The original village was turned into a big city after the 1960’s by moving the government from Abidjan. Now Yamoussoukro is city with huge government buildings, a presidential palace and deserted eight-lane highways. In contrast Abidjan with its 4-5 Million people remains the de-facto capital of the country.
