About Rwanda
Rwanda is mostly savanna grassland with a rural population. The top destinations of the country are the Virunga Volcanoes, the Kagera National Park and the region around Lake Kivu. Further west is the Volcanoes National Park, one of the last sanctuaries of the mountain gorilla in the world. Traveller that want to spot them need to drop by the regional parks office to register. This region is composed of volcanic mountains, of which two are still active.

Good to know
Rwanda was home to some of the worst attrocities of the Genocide between ethnic Hutu and Tutsi. Still evidence is found in the country of what happened during those 100 days.
