About Uganda
Uganda is located on a plateau covered with thick tropical forests and semidesert areas, with the White Nile flowing through much of the country. The plateau has a rim of scenic mountains with the snowcapped Margherita Peak on Mount Stanley 5,110 m as the highest point. Uganda has several large lakes, including Lake Victoria, Lake Albert, Lake Kyoga and Lake Edward, covering a sixth of the countries surface. There are several offshore islands in Lake Victoria. One of the must see destinations isthe impressive Bwindi National Park.
The capital Kampala and nearby city of Entebbe, located close to Lake Victoria are worth while a visit.
