About Brunei
Brunei is a tiny country with a 600 years heritage of royal Sultanate, and the only Malay state that chose to remain a British dependency rather than join the Malaysian Federation. It became an independent state in 1984. It is a beautifull country with mangrove swamps, equatorial jungle and sandy beaches with azure waters.
Brunei today is one of the richest countries in Southeast Asia with a very high standard of living, thanks to its crude oil and natural gas production. Education and healthcare are free; houses, cars, and even pilgrimages to Mecca are subsidized. There’s no tax on personal income and the average per capita income is among the highest in the world.
