About Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is a dry land of which 10% is intensely cultivated, irrigated river valleys. The highest point in Uzbekistan is Adelunga Toghi at 4301 meters.
Tashkent is the capital of Uzbekistan, an ancient city that was on the major caravan crossroads of the Silk Road. Tashkent today is a very European city, with very little reminders of its position on the Silk Road or its 2000+ years of history.
Samarkand and Bukhara are two more original and famous cities on the ancient Silk Road, with some of the most beautiful Koranic schools, impressive mosques and big tall minarets.
