About Vietnam
Vietnam consists of hills and densely forested mountains, with in the north the Red River Delta and in the south coastal lowlands and the Mekong River Delta. Fan Si Pan is the highest mountain in Vietnam with 3143 m. With endless green patchwork of rice paddies, floating markets of the Mekong Delta, ancient temples and colourful pagodas in cities, Vietnam seems to be timeless. However with modern luxury added recently Vietnam has created a perfect balance between old and new.
Ho Chi Minh City, on the western bank of the Saigon River, is the vibrant capital of Vietnam with over 6 million people, making it the most populous city in the country. The city has preserved its Asian character with sidewalks crammed with noodle stands, crying street vendors, shoeshine boys and streets filled with motorbikes and scooters.
