About Honduras
Honduras is one of the least developed and least secure countries in Central America and the Caribbean. Honduran consists 80% of mountains with narrow plains along the coasts, with in the northeast La Mosquita, a large undeveloped lowland jungle, with the Rio Platano on the Unesco protected biosphere list. The extensive network of national parks and reserves is an interesting but still a relative new destination for eco-tourists. A destiantion worth while to see is Copan which is one of the finest Maya sites in the region.
