About Panama
Panama has the largest rainforest in the western hemisphere outside the Amazon basin, and is gaining as a premier destination for eco tourism. Its jungles are home to a rich variety of tropical plants, mammals and birds. Volcan and Boquete in the Chiriqui province, offer the great opportunities for mountain hiking and water rafting. Panamá also boasts unspoiled beaches and coral reefs.
Panama perhaps is best known for its Panama Canal that links the North Atlantic Ocean via the Caribbean Sea with the North Pacific Ocean. Panama City is the capital with old and interesting sights like the Plaza de Francia and the President’s Palace.
