About Puerto Rico
This tropical volcanic island in the Caribbean with palm-lined beaches on all four cost lines, encompasses distinctly different kinds of topography and microclimates in a relatively small area. A rugged mountain range runs across the center from east to west, the north side of the island is covered by dense vegetation, karst formations, and rushing streams, while the south side is home to tropical dry forests.
Puerto Rico's capital San Juan is a modern city with ancient Spanish heritage dating back to the days of the arrival of Christopher Columbus.
