About Virgin Islands (British)
The British Virgin Islands (or BVI) is a group of over 50 subtropical islands with white sandy beaches and coral reefs. They are an overseas territory of the United Kingdom. The island archipelago is a magnet for yachting enthusiasts with Tortola as the yachting capital of the Caribbean. Its beaches are a paradise for divers, snorkellers and sun worshippers. A few of the smaller islands which are clustered around the Sir Francis Drake Channel, are privately owned, like Necker Island which is owned by Sir Richard Branson and is now an exclusive holiday spot.
