About Tirana
Tirana is the capital of and largest city of Albania. Founded in 1614, it became Albania's capital city in 1920. Located on the Ishm River, Tirana is Albania's chief industrial and cultural centre.

- The Albanian Riviera around Dhërmi and Himare with nice beaches and small villages clinging high above the coast
- Butrint-a National Park and World Heritage site with the Temple of Asklepios and the Greek-era Well of Nymphs, and some massive Illyrian city walls.
- Gjirokastra-a World Heritage site, with the castle housing the National Arms museum
- Berat with a beautiful medieval citadel district on top of the hill, the Leaded Mosque in the lower town, and hiking opportunities on Mount Tomorri
