Armenia lies in the southern Caucasus between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea and it boasts striking scenery with high mountains, caves, fast flowing rivers, lakes and hot springs. Mount Aragats is the highest point at 4,095 m.
Yerevan is the capital and largest city of Armenia. It is over 2,780 years old, making it one of the oldest cities in the world, with the ruins of the Urartu fortress called Erebuni as remnent of its early foundation during the time of ancient Babylon in 782 BC.
