Azerbaijan borders the Caspian Sea, and consists of the large, flat lowlands of Kur-Araz Ovaligi and a small European portion north of the Caucasus range.
Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan lies on the Caspian Sea and has a beautifull historic medieval city centre, surrounded by citadel walls that has recently been fully restored. Its vast open bazar offers a unique experience to experience Azerbaijani culture.
