About Cyprus

Cyprus is an ancient island in the Meditteranean, believed to be the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. However today the island is still dominated by the conflict between Greek and Turkish speeking inhabitants. The island is partioned and divided from Morphou through Nicosia, the capital , to Famagusta, and is patrolled by United Nations troops.

Tourism is one of the counties main economic activities, due to its many good beaches, holiday resorts and luxury hotels mostly in the southern part of the island, its many ruins going back to the Greek and Roman civilization,Crusader castles and its picturesque mountain villages.
