Reykjavik is the world’s northernmost capital not far from the Arctic Circle, located in southwest Iceland by Faxaflói bay. The city offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, the mountains and afar you can catch a glimpse of Snæfellsjökull, the magical glacier.

  • Car: Wide multi-lane highways run all over the city. Traveling on minor roads in Iceland however can be rough, especially care in the highlands, where rivers crossings can be dangerous

Inbound transport

  • Nearest airport: The Keflavík International Airport inside the city, is used for domestic flights as well as flights to Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
  • Ferry: ferry services are offered from Seyðisfjordur during the summer to the Faeroe Islands, Norway, Denmark and the Shetland Islands
