Liechtenstein, situated in the Upper Rhine valley of the European Alps less then two hours from Zurich, in effect is Europe's only absolute monarchy. Liechtenstein is mountainous with Grauspitz as the highest point at 2,599 m. In winter times the mountain slopes are ideal for winter sports.
