About Montenegro
Montenegro is located in southeast Europe with a 293 km coastline on the Adriatic Sea. The narrow coastline is highly indented, with nice beaches and charming cities. It is backed by rugged mountains and plateaus with peaks of up to 2000 m, that make up for some of the most rugged terrain in Europe.
The country has a number of UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the impressive Durmitor National park with its mountaintops, numerous glacier lakes and canyons of the rivers Tara, Susica and Draga. Places like the old city of Kotor with the Mountain of Lovcen on the background, and the 17th century monastery of Ostrog, carved in rocks, are truly magnificent.
