About Poland

The Polish landscape consists almost entirely of the lowlands with over 9.300 lakes mainly in the north and several large rivers like the Vistula and the Oder. At the border with Slovakia in the south lies the Tatras mountain range, a well known winter sports destination.

Warsaw is the capital of Poland and with its reconstructed Royal Castle, the museum of the former Warsaw Ghetto, and its big market Stadion Dziesieioleci, it is a city is worth while seeing. Cracow or the Old Town has perhaps the best preserved medieval city centre in Europe, with magnificent churches, palaces, old streets, the grand Old Market Square and the beautifull Royal Castle and Cathedral. As one of the former great Jewish centres in Europe the city’s history can clearly be seen in the old ghetto area of Kazimierz.
