About Slovakia
The beautifull Slovak landscape is mostly dominated by the forested Carpatian Mountains, with popular skiing destinations in the Tatra mountains and many scenic lakes and valleys. The Tatra National Park has an abundance of wildlife and a large variety of alpine plants and has many excellent opportunities for hiking.
Bratislava is the capital of the Slovakia that lies on the banks of the river Danube close to the Little Carpatians. It is an old city, beautifully restored with many castles and fortresses that remind of its historical strategic importance in Central Europe.
