Yemen is a spectacular country with beautiful rugged mountains and desert landscapes.
Yemen is better known for its fantastic ancient architecture, with cities like Sanaa, the old capital that is on the world heritage list of UNESCO, and Marib the famous ancient city on the outskirts of the east Yemen desert Mafazet Saihad, a meeting point for caravans coming from the Qana port on the Arabian Sea coast, crossing the Wadi Hadhramout.

Unlike other people of the Arabian Peninsula who have historically been nomads or semi-nomads, Yemenis are almost entirely sedentary and live in small villages and towns scattered throughout the highlands and coastal regions.
