About Bermuda
Bermuda was first settled in 1609 by shipwrecked English colonists headed for Virginia, and today has developed into a densely populated British crown colony with a prosporous economy based on off-shore financial industry and a well developed tourism, mostly off American vistors attracted by its beaches, golf courses and colonial buildings.
Bermuda consists of about 138 coral islands and islets, and has ample rainfall, with no rivers or freshwater lakes. There are two cities in Bermuda: the city of Hamilton and the town of St. George.
