About Arkansas
Arkansas is a Southern state in the United States with beautiful mountains, valleys, forest lands and wide plains. The state is about equally divided between lowlands and highlands with in the Northwest the Ozark Plateau and in the south eastern parts, the Lowlands with the Delta along the Mississippi river and the Grand Prairie slightly away from the Mississippi river. Arkansas has many small streams, rivers, lakes and springs providing for 14,000 km of canoeing and fishing opportunities, great outdoors and lots of campsites.

Getting Around
- Little Rock National Airport and Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport are Arkansas' main airports
- If you are in a hurry take one of the Interstate Highways: I30, I40, I55, I430, I 440, I 530, I540 or the I630
- If not try some of the scenic byways that lead to breathtaking landscapes
- Crowley's Ridge Parkway takes you to the Chalk Bluff Natural Area, five state parks and the St. Francis National Forest
- Talimena Scenic Byway-a 85 km drive along the top of the Ouachita, Winding Stair and Rich Mountains with stunning views and outdoor opportunities
- The Great River Road links eastern Arkansas on a marked route that parallels the Mississippi
- Crowley's Ridge Parkway National Scenic Byway-315 km through Delta's "highlands", this route passes by five state parks, Civil War sites, the former home of Ernest Hemingway and the Delta Cultural Center.
- Arkansas Scenic 7 Byway-one of America’s most scenic drives through both the Ouachita and Ozark Mountains
