Florida is best known for its 1,750 km of beaches, with the worlds’ best surfers breaks, and some of the best places in the world to enjoy snorkeling, diving, boating, fishing, shelling, birding, beach events and people watching. It is also home to the worlds most exciting theme parks like Disney World, Universal Studios and Seaworld. Florida has a rich wildlife with diverse habitats like the coral reefs of the Keys or the cypress swamps of the Panhandle, and animals like manatees, dolphins, alligators, tiny Key deer and many different species of water birds.

Getting Around

  • If you are in hurry take the Interstates (I-4, I-10, I-75, I-95)
  • If not take the scenic tours
    • A1A Scenic and Historic Coastal Byway-this National Scenic Byway (made up of three individual State scenic highways the Scenic and Historic A1A, A1A River and Sea Trail, and A1A Ocean Shore) offers beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean. It begins at Ponte Vedra Beach, just south of Jacksonville, and travels 115 km south along the Atlantic Ocean and Intercoastal Waterway ending just south of Flagler Beach. It takes you to places as St. Augustine, Washington Oaks Gardens State Park and The Flagler Beach pier.
    • Indian River Lagoon National Scenic Highway-a family-friendly 265 km loop beginning at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge takes you to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, the Indian River Lagoon Estuary System, the Sebastian Inlet State Park, with great fishing surfing, canoeing, kayaking or ranger-led boat cruises to the Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge.
    • Florida Keys Scenic Highway-170 km of scenic roads connecting the Florida Keys along U.S. 1 to Mile Marker 1-travelling over forty-three bridges from Key Largo to Key West with breathtaking sights. It takes you to one of the greatest Florida attractions: Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary that surrounds the entire archipelago of the Florida Keys. Follow U.S. 1 south to Key West where you can enjoy some of America’s finest beaches and visit the famous Hemingway House
    • Tamiami Trail Scenic Highway crossing the southern tip of Florida, runs through the Florida Everglades tropical wilderness, Big Cypress National Preserve with the endangered Florida panther, Egret-Everglades National Park, the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park and just before the end of the trail the Miccosukee Indian Village
