About Hawaii
Hawaii lies in the tropics in the archipelago of the Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean. It is the only U.S. state that is surrounded by water, 3680 km from the mainland. The Hawaiian Archipelago consists of nineteen islands and atolls extending across a distance of 2,400 km. The volcanic activity and isolation of the Hawaiian Islands have resulted impressive geological landscapes and endemic flora and fauna. Hawaii is famous for its lush rainforests, secluded beaches and great snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, surfing, windsurfing, jet-skiing, catamaran cruises and deep sea fishing.
