About Maine

Maine is the easternmost state in New England and known for its seacoast, beaches, more than 2,500 lakes, 5,000 streams, mountains, and 26 state parks. Its rugged, indented coastline and glacier-carved, forested interior give this state a unique character. Almost 89% of Maine is forested which makes it a popular vacation destination for the outdoors with excellent opportunities for hunting, fishing, skiing, and camping. The north Maine woods are the most remote region ideal for travellers seeking solitude and northern beauty. Maine is also a world leader in the fishing industry and here you can enjoy some of the finest marine lobster on this earth.
