Massachusetts is a state in the New England region of the north eastern United States. It is a small state known as one of the world's top ten whale watching spots according to the World Wildlife Fund, with excellent beaches, fresh-caught seafood and a wealth of historical sites.

Getting Around
- If you are in a hurry take the Interstate Highways: I-91, I-95, I-495, I-93, and I-90
- If not try some of the Massachusetts scenic byways
- Essex National Heritage Area Scenic Byway-this 38 km byway takes you to New England’s best: historic seaports, colonial era farms and village centres, set against the back-drop of The Great Marsh, New England's largest salt marsh. You can access numerous beaches and trails from this byway
- Jacob's Ladder Trail (Route 20)
- Mohawk Trail
- Mount Greylock Scenic Byway-this road takes you to the top of the highest point in Massachusetts, Mount Greylock, with fantastic views
- Old King's Highway (Route 6A)-once an Indian trade route, this route follows the coast and passes through 7 Cape towns.
Travel tips
Mrs.
Visit the Berkshire Hills, in Western Massachusetts. It has beautiful scenery, outdoor activities all year round, and wonderful cultural activities. Museums, concerts, art galleries, historic homes, fine restaurants and shops are available. The town of Lenox is central.
