About Wyoming

Wyoming is a state of the western United States with numerous mountain ranges and wide open grasslands. Wyoming is the least populous of the U.S. states, with beautiful scenery and an impressive wildlife. From Grand Teton to Yellowstone National Park, from the Shoshone National Forest to the Eastern Great Plains, Wyoming is beautiful and breathtaking with its bison, moose, elk, bald eagles, muskrats, raccoons, beavers, prairie dogs, and coyotes.

Highlights

  • Yellowstone National Park-America’s true wilderness. Enjoy its natural phenomena like the Old Faithful, the most widely recognized geyser, the Yellowstone River with its waterfalls cutting a grand canyon deep into the golden-hued rock and Lake Yellowstone.
  • Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole National Monument in the Teton Range of the Rockies- a natural for hikers, campers and skiers.
  • White water rafting on the Snake River (a good start is Jackson close to Grand Teton National Park)

  • If you have the chance, go see a rodeo like Cheyenne’s Frontier Days held the last full week in July

Getting Around

  • Highway 14A or the Medicine Wheel Passage Scenic Byway
  • Highway 14 or the Big Horn Scenic Byway is a great way to go to Yellowstone or the Grand Teton crossing the Bighorn National Forest
  • Cloud Peak Skyway travels through the southern section of the Big Horn National Forest on US Route 16 from Buffalo over Powder River Pass, another great route for travellers heading west to Yellowstone and Grand Teton
  • Centennial Scenic Byway
  • Beartooth Scenic Byway (US 212) offers travellers a unique high country experience through the Shoshone National Forest
  • Chief Joseph Scenic Byway with spectacular views along the north eastern edge of Yellowstone National Park
  • Buffalo Bill Cody Scenic Byway (US Highway 14-16-20) follows the North Fork of the Shoshone River through the scenic Wapiti Valley to the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. 10 km West of Cody the highway skirts Buffalo Bill Reservoir, a source of excellent trout fishing.
