About Australia
Australia is the world's smallest continent but all the same a very large country with a number of islands, the largest of which is Tasmania. However it also has the lowest population density in the world.
Australia offers a wide variety for travelers like the remote 'Outback', colourful coral islands and the Great Barrier Reef and the tropical rainforests of Western Australia. Then there are the heavily-populated coastal strips with spectacular beaches and coral reefs off the shoreline.
Isolated from other continents, Australia has an abundance of unique plant and animal life. Well known are the koala, kangaroos, wombats and birds like the emu and kookaburra.
