About Northern Territory
The Northern Territory has 93 national parks and reserves covering huge area's of pristine nature with very diverse natural habitats. This is the state of the spectacular and sacred Uluru-Kata Tjuta rock formations. In the north you will find the wetlands and a vast coastline with some of the best fishing waters in the world; in the south you can explore desert landscapes near Alice Springs; and then there is the vast outback that makes you forget about place and time. With one third of the population being Aboriginal Australians, you will have the chance to meet many different Aboriginal cultures.

Getting Around
- Train: The famous Ghan runs weekly between Adelaide and Darwin through the outback.
- Car:
- The Explorer's Way connects Adelaide in South Australia to Darwin in the Northern Territory
- The Nature's Way from Darwin through the Adelaide and Mary River wetlands, the Kakadu National Park and finally the Litchfield National Park
- Red Centre Way starting in Alice Springs, this drive will take you to Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon)
- Trekking through excellent bushwalking trails like
- the Larapinta Trail through the West MacDonnell National Park (223 km)
- the Jatbula Trail through Nitmiluk National Park (66-km)
- the Tabletop Track (39 km) linking cascading waterfalls in Litchfield National Park
- the Uluru Base Walk circling the Uluru base
- the Barrk Sandstone Bushwalk in Kakadu National Park
- the Kings Canyon Rim Walk in Watarrka National Park
