About 75% of its population lives in Perth, Western Australia’s capital on the Indian Ocean, a city that is located more than 3,000 km away from Australia's capital Sydney!   • Enjoy the pristine white sandy beaches between Perth and Lancelin
  • Yallingup and Margaret River, south of Perth, is true mecca for surfers.
  • Dive with the world’s largest fish - the whale shark
  • Ningaloo Reef-Western Australia's largest and most accessible Coral Reef. The reef offers great opportunities for diving with several historical shipwrecks and a great diversity of tropical fish and coral offer. The emerald green lagoons are great for snorkelling and fishing.
  • Kalbarri National Park – where the Murchison River flows into Indian Ocean with  a rich wildflower bushland (especially from July to October a feast for the eye). Take the opportunity to go canoeing or hiking and experience its wonderful nature. You can spot dolphins or whales along its spectacular coast.
  • Shark Bay World Heritage Area with its turquoise waters filled with dugongs, manta rays and marine turtles. See the oldest and largest living fossils in the world, interact with the bottle-nosed dolphins in Monkey Mia or just enjoy the 1500 km of meandering coastline with its natural beauties such as the Zuytdorp Cliffs and the Wooramel Seagrass Bank. Shark Bay is ideal for boating, fishing, snorkelling and diving.
  • Kalgoorlie Boulder-a living museum of Western Australia’s gold mining history
  • Cape Le Grand National Park in the Esperance region with beautiful beaches, islands, and granite headlands.
  • Karijini National Park-one of Western Australia’s largest national parks famous for its gorges and waterfalls. There are excellent walk trails and camping sites within the park.
  • The Kimberley in the northern part of Western Australia an area the size of Japan with destinations such as Bell Gorge in the King Leopold Range National Park, the city of Broome, Bungle Bungle (Purnululu) National Park with its surreal beehive-shaped domes and many Aboriginal burial sites, Geike Gorge, Mitchell Falls with spectacular scenery and great bushwalking, Windjana Gorge and Wolfe Creek Meteorite Crater
  • If you have the chance go and see the more than 400 years giant trees in the Southern Forests

Getting Around

  • Trains and buses offer good hop-on hop-off packages
  • Commercial air flights and regular charter flights between major centers (Albany, Esperance, Exmouth, Kalgoorlie, Geraldton, Karratha, Broome and Kununurra)
  • Four wheel driving to remote areas of Western Australia:
    • The rugged Gibb River Road from Derby to Kununurra, Australia’s classic outback drive, stretching some 660 kilometers through untouched natural assets of the Kimberley wilderness. The road should be attempted only with a 4WD vehicle and is accessible only between May and October. The road cuts through King Leopold Range, Philips Range, Barnett Range, Gibb Range, Mosquito Hills, Pentecost Range and Cockburn Range. Fresh water crocodiles, green tree snakes and tortoises can be found at the densely vegetated waterholes, creeks and many gorges.
    • Try the Kalgoorlie Gold Rush route from Pert to Kalgoorlie through country towns and enjoy the rural hospitality
    • Explore Western Australia’s Coral Coast from Perth to Exmouth . See Kalbarri, Monkey Mia, Coral Bay and Ningaloo Reef.
