About Solomon Islands

The Solomon Islands are a wide island nation east of papua New Guinea, with islands as far apart as up to 1500 km. Especially the Santa Cruz Islands, north of Vanuatuare are very isolated. Most of the larger islands are mountainous and heavily forested, and some are volcanic . Many of the smaller islands are simply tiny atolls with palm trees.
