- Weather: Vanuatu has a hot, rainy climate with the rainy season from November to April. The May to July period is the best period for hiking. Vanuatu is the most hurricane-prone country in the South Pacific.
- Vanuatu sits on the west edge of the Pacific Plate next to the 8,000-m deep New Hebrides Trench. The Indo-Australian Plate slips under the Pacific Plate pushing it 10 cm a year northwest, accompanied by earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
