About Bolivia

Bolivia is the highest and most isolated country in South America. Half of the country lies in the Andes mountain range, with Nevado del Sajama at 6,542 m as the highest peak. In the centre where most people live, lies the Altiplano or the central highland plateau, and in the east the Amazonian rainforest start with for example the interesting Los Katios National Park in Choco. In the west the world's largest salt flats or the Salar de Uyuni can be admired with some spectular sights.

The government of Bolivia is seated in La Paz, the highest governmental city in the world at 4,000 m. The largest city is Santa Cruz, a city that has a lot of colonial architecture and its famous Inca fortress called El Fuente de Samaipata, that is on the World Heritage list.
