About French Guiana
French Guiana consists of a coastal strip where the majority of the people live, a dense, near-inaccessible rainforest, which gradually rises to the modest peaks of the Tumac-Humac mountains along the Brazilian frontier.
Cayenne is the capital and lies on an island at the mouth of the Cayenne River with some beaches along the Atlantic coast. It's main street is the Avenue Général de Gaulle with various Vietnamese, Chinese, Creole and Indonesian restaurants and a well developed nightlife.
Interesting destination is the main French Space Centre in Kourou with its modern buildings and interesting tours to the space centre.
