About Asuncion
Asunción is the capitol of Paraguay and is located at the east bank of the Rio Paraguay at the Bay of Asuncion. Gran Asunción, the greater metropolitan area, has more than 1.5 million inhabitants, and includes cities like San Lorenzo, Fernando de la Mora, Lambaré, Luque, Mariano Roque Alonso, Ñemby and Villa Elisa. Asunción is one of the oldest cities in South America, being founded in 1537.
