About Belize

Belize has one of the world's longest barrier reefs with three atolls and offshore cayes and coral reefs all along its coastline. Its coastal plains make up a tremendous wetland rich with wildlife of birds, mammals, reptiles and beneath the surface, a brilliant and colourfull world of fish and corals. This makes it a favourite destiantion for any scuba diver, marine biolologist or fishermen.

Belize also has some of the richest tropical forests with howlers and spider monkeys, tapirs and pumas, jabiru storks and the keel-billed toucan birds. Another remarkable aspects of Belize is its long cave system with many traces of the Maya civilization. Together with areliable public transport this makes Belize an ideal country to travel independently and explore the thousands of ancient Mayan ruins.
