About San Marino

San Marino is the world's oldest republic, being founded by a Christian stonemason named Marino in 301 A.D., and a distant echo of Europe's past era's of small city states. Mount Titano, part of the Appennine range, dominates San Marino's landscape, with three defensive fortresses on its slopes, looking over the Adriatic coast. Tourism is the largest source of income with more than 3 million tourists visiting San Marino every year.
